Spring Agora Krakow

Pomladi so se naši člani odpravili na spomladansko Agoro v Krakov. Jernej nas je pridno obveščal o dogajanju.

“Spring AGORA Krakow began on Tuesday and has brought more than 800 people from all around Europe to a wonderful city in Poland. The aim of the event, focussed on this year’s topic DESTINATION EUROPE, is to work together and find solutions to challenges our local organizations, AEGEE-Europe and Europe in general are facing. Yesterday’s evening planary and the one that just finished today morning were structured to present candidates running for bodies and work groups inside AEGEE-Europe. They will be voted upon today evening. Good luck to them all. The agenda also includes different discussions, workshops and activities. We hope that the whole event continues as fruitfully as untill today. We will keep you posted on the progres of the event.”

“AGORA continued with the work planned for today. The agenda included everything from motions on improving the organizations documents and procedures, reports on yesterday’s elections and loads of DRAMA. But even though the morning plannary offered unexpected complications, it once more served as proof and example of how the democratic values in AEGEE are alive and in practice, bringing the antennae and other bodies even closer together. The day also included reports of multiple interest groups and projects working within AEGEE-Europe or in close collaboration with it. The elefant in the room, as much for other organizations like AEGEE, has recently been the decreasing membership. But reviewing all the hard work, sacrifices and motivation AEGEEans made over the year and presented today can show us only one thing: The quality of AEGEE and its projects is as inspirational and highflying as always.”

“Unfortunately, every great event has to come to an end. The last day’s agora activities included tackling the last points of discussion. We also had an opportunity to visit a fair including multiple AEGEElocals and projects that were very inspirational. We ended the official part of the day with the closing planary. It included the announcement of new AEGEE-Europe representatives and announcement of the autumn AGORA that will take place in Istanbul. Congratulations also to AEGEE-Izmir who will host next year’s European planning meating, and to all the new locals and contacts of the network. Although the event has come to an end, the project announced for the future will for sure bring us all together sooner or later.”
